Houston Rapper Obe Noir was shot dead

He was also a 31-year-old militant.

Rapper and protester Obe Noir was shot dead on Monday (March 8). He was thirty-one years old.

According to ABC 13, police report that witnesses say they saw Noir, born Xavier Roberson, running down a street near Midtown Houston after hearing gunfire in the early morning hours on Monday.

The Houston Police Department says that witnesses saw a car circle around Roberson shortly after and then two suspects got out of the car and shot him. The unidentified two men fled the scene in their car immediately after the incident.

Roberson posted a photo of himself and George Floyd on Instagram on Instagram last May with a picture that relates his complaint about the loss. Floyd and him grew up in the same projects, said Cal Wayne, a friend of Roberson.

Roberson was also known for his advocacy and community service, mostly in association with Wayne and Houston fellow rapper Trae Tha Reality. Trae mourned Roberson’s death in a message on instagram.  “U aint deserve the way they done you,” he wrote.
