VGMA To Lift Ban Placed On Shatta Wale And Stonebwoy Ahead of the 2021 edition

The board of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) has revealed its intention to lift the ban on two frontrunners of the Ghana Dancehall Fraternity, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.

Recall, the two caused the VGMA scene in 2019, after there was some kind of disagreement between the Bhim Natives and the members of the Shatta Movement. The management of the VGMA has placed an indefinite ban on the termination of their participation in any of their award schemes.

Well, speaking on Hitz FM with Andy Dosty, the PRO of Charterhouse, Robert Klah has revealed that the board intends to lift the ban on both artists.

“In principle, it was decided that the ban should be lifted,” he said.

He also said that the board had yet to meet the management of the two musicians in order to gain a clear understanding of certain developments in order to avoid future altercations.

“There is a reason why this altercation has happened, and you want to be sure that it doesn’t resurface. You want to have that kind of conversation to understand and agree on how things should move,” he said.

Finally, Mr. Klah stated that the two artists would be given the opportunity to submit their entries if they could not meet them before the deadline for submission.
