Kuame Eugene has revealed that his father has never sponsored his dream since the first day and strengthened it by smashing the computer he uses for beat output and storing his musical works.
The A-list star and one of the best singers in the Afrobeat genre on the African continent announced this when he participated in the award-winning United Showbiz program anchored by Abeiku Santana on United Television (UTV).
He said, “My father cherished and encouraged my aspirations, but he gave up when my music didn’t make it to the top. So one day, he unplugged the computer that I was operating on and effectively killed the programs that I was working on.
The Rockstar, as he was affectionately nicknamed, said that his mother gave him a chance to pursue his creativity by encouraging him to use a portion of his kitchen as a makeshift studio.
I opened a mini studio in my mother’s kitchen where I taught the boys in the neighborhood to make music so I could get some money to get through.
Often I had to push my mother to make room for me in the kitchen so that I could continue working in the studio. It was a time when I just knew that I wanted to leave, and that really encouraged me.
