At this year’s Billboard Music Awards, Post Malone was the big winner, taking home nine awards, including top artist of the year.
As a result of the pandemic, the annual award ceremony that was scheduled to take place back in April in Las Vegas was relocated to Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles in October.
Within the premises, there was no crowd leaving winners to address an eerily empty venue.
Malone described the current turmoil as “a weird time for all” in his acceptance speech after winning top artist of the year and told those watching TV proceedings to “stay strong and only spread love everywhere you go.”
Lil Nas X, who picked up the award for Top Hot 100 song for his viral smash Old Town Road, is among some notable winners.
The prizes were based on the chart period from March 2019 to March this year for the 2020 Billboard Music Awards.
